It is alot of work and money but i think i did it well with waht i have.
FAWT Silo. ( Fixed Axis Wind Turbine SILO). The FAWT Silo is one of my ideas to improve the efficiency of VAWT.
We know that the best VAWT can only be 45% vs The HAWT in efficiency.
Well The FAWT is a VAWT but it uses lift like the HAWT to create the rotation spin.
The idea is simple, I took the wind from a horizontal direction to a downward direction, and yes I was successfull, there is a lot more modifications to be done but few bucks at a time I can only spend my allowance, no investors yet....

This idea and many more always been in my melon, the "FAWT Silo" is a fixed axis wind turbine Silo that takes the wind from a horizantal to downward direction. we all know that the vawt is not very effecient wind turbine compared to the HAWT. but with the FAWT that acts like a vawt but uses lift the same as a HAWT should be more eefecient, i am hoping 60% eefecincy VS 100% HAWT.
The mechanics of my Idea is trully simple. i left few pics and rendering on my site to show how i did it.
I still have all kinds of modification to do on it.
I did use plywood, pvc to channel the wind,the funnel and blades housing are made from hockey boards that are used in the Hockey arena. there is alot of sience that i dont undestand, because ones the air starts funneling down through the deflectors on top, there is a vacum that is created and that sucks the air on the sides of the blades housing and that increases the air flow alot more than i thought.
I have 2 types of blades, the usual carbon fiber blades that uses lift to spin at high rpm, you can only use high rpm pmg for them to work properly. the other blades are my CREATION and tork is the method to them, i shaped them like a cup and that traps the wind in the middle and the only way out is though the side, so this way I lose no wind sliding of the blades to the tips.
