Energy in NYC
Hi all,
I saw this site ad while browsing around online, then started searching for forums about this stuff, as it caught my interest. Also read up a little on alternative energy on the wikipedia site.
I had a few questions if you guys might be able to answer them for me (much appreciated).
I haven't seen anything specifically about this, and if there is I appologize. Basically, what I saw in the reviews, and mostly around this site is mostly the popularity of solar panels and the wind generators. Due to living in the city, Wind Generators probably isn't an option for me (only have a small backyard).
Possibly solar panels, but are those effective in cities, or not worth the trouble? My monthly electric bill is normally $180-$200, upwards $240-$250 during the summer months and it would be nice to cut it down a little. There is a large building nearby that casts a shade a fair portion of the day during the morning, although I mean - it's not dark and oblivious to light or anything.
If solar panels might be effective despite that, My next question would be a starting point. Is a guide in that review something good to start with if anyone has experience with something like that? I'm not a technical person and when people say things are easy it usually isn't, and perhaps if so it would be best to just buy a solar panel from a company - make sure i don't screw anything up? If I can cut back on some bills a little (tough times) and help the environment at the same time it would be great!
Thanks in advance all!
